Experience

Celeste Shirley
Ba. Kin. Honours
Registered Kinesiologist
Certified Personal Trainer
Certified Yoga Teacher

Celeste began teaching forty years ago working with athletes conducting strength and conditioning programs and exercise programs for individuals who needed rehabilitation related to work injuries, and MVAs. After working with hundreds of individuals, she knew she needed to inspire people to help them stay with an exercises program.

Celeste felt that inspiring people by helping them understand more than just the benefits (don't we all know them!) would reduce guilt and get them moving consistently. By finding out a person's exercise "personality" she helps them develop a way that exercise will get done. Her clients and patients feel like they will do repeats.
Through displaying to clients how to stay inspired, her sessions are delightful, challenging, educational, and help them embody what the exercises feel like. (Plus she's funny.) Patients and clients are provided with a video of the exercise session.

Celeste's owns The Yoga House studio. Here, she offers one-on-one and small group classes in Yoga, Rehabilitation, Personal Training, and Conscious Living. The Yoga House is a nature sanctuary situated on Merrill Bridge Ravine in Toronto. Twelve minutes from the subway, participants enjoy a retreat from the city without the travel. The studio is described as “Heaven on Earth”. Celeste offers:
• Personal Training in yoga and exercise

Each person can connect to nature especially when the French doors are open to the conservation area. Each student’s experiences the education, instruction and advice to deepen their practice of yoga and exercise. Celeste provides her students with thorough screening to identify any potential musculoskeletal, postural or health concerns for each participant to allow their yoga practice and adaptations to exercise to advance and be safe.
Her inspirational approach to exercise and yoga is humorous, insightful and provokes interest in the body for each individual.
