About Me

Experience

Lori Desjardine is very passionate about her work and takes great pride in helping others regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

I strongly believe in empowering each individual client to help them achieve success. I view each client as unique with their own individual strengths and challenges, thus programs are creatively designed to maximize outcomes and client-directed goals. I strive to devise innovative solutions to clients’ needs and am constantly seeking to enhance my knowledge in all areas of rehabilitation.

I take great pride in the fact that I am able to work so closely with client’s and families at a very vulnerable stage, to help bring a quality of life and joy back into their lives. I have over fifteen years of experience as an occupational therapist and have spent much of this time in the area of neurological rehabilitation and community-based practice.

I continue to expand my knowledge and treatment techniques with my professional designation of Occupational Therapy and have expanded my knowledge to include: Micro Point Stimulation (MPS), Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), HeartMath techniques, I am a qualified Cogmed provider, a BrainFx administrator, as well as a Restorative Yoga teacher and Meditation Instructor.

I have always been passionate about neurological trauma, brain injury and mental health, however, my unique skill set applies well to various conditions including those living with chronic pain and disability. I believe that not only is it important to have a solid knowledge base but to be able to see people for who they are and work with them in the present moment. Health is ever-changing, and it is the connections we make and the skills that we learn along the way that help us heal.
